We have negotiated with the following hotels that have blocked rooms for the conference. Availability is on a first-come first-serve basis. Note that the Holiday Inn is our preferred choice and the rates are terrific. The Staybridge is our “spillover” hotel in case you can’t get a room at the Holiday Inn. These hotels were renovated within the last year and offer clean, comfortable, and up-to-date lodging and services.

This hotel is situated close to downtown on Avenue Q and is the classic Holiday Inn hotel. Shuttle service to the conference site is available, although the hotel is only 1.2 miles from the conference site on a nice walk down Broadway Avenue. The hotel is a 20 minute walk to the Depot District (a few cool restaurants and bars) as well as the Buddy Holly Center. Rooms begin at $85.00, with a variety of room types available. This hotel is across the street from Texas Tech and is a 15 minute walk to the conference site. It is close to local campus hangouts and is next door to a more “adult” venue, Café J (nice restaurant and lounge). All rooms are queen or king suites and begin at $99.00 per night for one guest. (State of Texas employees get the Texas rate of $85.00.) This hotel has limited facilities (no restaurant, no bar). Make your reservations directly via the link below. Travel to Lubbock is normally via a larger city hub (e.g., Albuquerque, Dallas, Houston). The following airlines service Lubbock:

We have negotiated with American Airlines for a conference discount of 5% (the airlines industry is not as generous as it used to be). You can fly any of the following carriers and get the discount as long as one segment is on AA.

WE STRONGLY SUGGEST BOOKING FLIGHTS AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. THE CONFERENCE COINCIDES WITH MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, WHICH MEANS INCREASED AIRFARES IF YOU DON’T GET A BOOKING EARLY. HUBS AT DALLAS, HOUSTON, AND ELSEWHERE WILL BE BUSY DUE TO HOLIDAY TRAVEL.
