Application Procedures for the M.A. in AL

 

The steps for application to the University and the Applied Linguistics graduate program are:

 

To apply to graduate school, send to Graduate Admissions:


a. A completed application form and application fee; form available on-line at
http://www.depts.ttu.edu/gradschool/prospect.php
b. GRE scores (and TOEFL score for international students); TOEFL may be waived if the student has a degree from a U.S. university)
c. Official copies of transcripts from all previously-attended universities
 

To apply to the  program, send to the AL & SLS  graduate advisor the following:


a. A letter in English informing us that you have applied to the graduate school.
b. A completed Applicant Form.

       c. Three letters of recommendation from professors with whom you have taken courses

       d. A short narrative (500 words or less) indicating why you are interested in Applied Linguistics, what your future plans are, and why you are interested in TTU.
e. A completed TA application form (if you are interested in a teaching assistantship).

M.A. in Applied Linguistics

Requirements for Entrance to the M.A. in AL

 

Applicants must meet all Graduate School requirements for admission, including the Graduate Record Examinations (Verbal and Quantitative), and must demonstrate knowledge of a language other than English. Prospective applicants whose native language is other than English must provide the Graduate School an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score report showing the suggested minimum scores for the listed subtests:
